The Acute Oncology Service provides support to cancer patients who are acutely unwell and have been admitted to hospital due to complications of their cancer, a suspected cancer, or due to their cancer treatment.

The Breast Care Nurses (BCN) provide expert advice and guidance on breast cancer, benign breast conditions, breast screening, treatment options as well as practical information and support.

The Gateshead Breast Screening Service is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It covers Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham and Chester-le-Street.

Gateshead provides comprehensive services for patients with common cancers.

Chemotherapy day unit is for Oncology and Haematology patients requiring day case chemotherapy and supportive treatments.
