Cardio Cath Lab carry out inpatient and outpatient Cardiac procedures, with a consultant cardiologist.

Cardiology is also known as Ward 8 and provides inpatient care and treatment for patients with various cardiac conditions.

Gastroenterology treats a wide range of conditions relating to the liver and digestive tract (gullet, stomach, bowel).

The haematology team offers care for patients with serious blood disorders including lymphoma, myeloma and leukaemia. We also see a wide range of general haematological conditions from anaemia to thrombosis.

The respiratory team provides services for people with a wide range of lung problems.

The Rheumatology team in Gateshead cares for a wide range of patients with problems affecting bones, joints and surrounding tissues.

The stroke specialist team care for patients with acute stroke and are transferred to Gateshead if they need further inpatient care.
